“Música pa' Pobre” (Music for the Working Class) is a unique musical fusion project founded by Angelica, an Italian singer-songwriter, and Jason, a Dominican producer and rapper. Their collaboration began after they played together in a band three years ago. Their music seamlessly blends diverse genres, including pop, soka, Afrobeat, rap, and electronic music, creating a sound designed to inspire both dancing and reflection. Their lyrics explore the complexities of modern life and the working class. The themes range from political commentary to intimate reflections on love, belonging, the daily struggles of urban life, the search for identity, and social acceptance. By combining Angelica’s soulful vocals with Jason’s sharp, introspective rhymes, “Música pa’ Pobre” stands as a powerful testament to resilience. It offers listeners both an escape and an opportunity to confront reality head-on, while celebrating unity and self-expression.
