Rekkiabilly

Emmertsgrund, Vorplatz Bürgerhaus

The fiery rock’n’roll of this Puglian band conjours up an unpredictable blend of sound, evoking a pure vintage musk through a metropolitan style of composition. Written and sung in Italian without censorship of local dialect or slang, Rekkiabilly delivers a well-shaken musical experience with lyrics as authentic as homemade wine. The group was formed in 2005, combining the creative talents of singer-songwriter and guitarist, Dario Mattoni and saxophonist, Lidia Bitetti, and has been exporting its distinctive swing/rockabilly sound across Europe ever since. Following a some experimentation with the group’s formation, Rekkiabilly has recently strengthened its line-up by welcoming an explosive brass quintet. Rekkiabilly has shared the stage with the likes of Jon Spencer, Après la Classe, Giuliano Palma & the Bluebeaters, NewYork Ska-Jazz Ensemble, Vinicio Capossela, Max Gazzè, Banda Bardò, Folkabbestia, Punkreas, Michele Zarrillo, Arisa and many others. The band has performed on stages at some of the most renowned venues in Europe including Micca Club (Rome), Bloom (Milan), White Trash and Road Runner (Berlin), Sean McD’s (Dublin), Kaf Fur Dik (Zurich), Sziget Festival (Budapest), FIMU (Belfort), and Hutball (Dresden). The band just released the new album Spaghetti Jive on march 2024.

Super Ram

20:30 - 21:30
Emmertsgrund, Vorplatz Bürgerhaus

The project with the septet Super RAM was born after the return to Colombia in 2020 of Andrés ‘O Positivo’ Ortiz, pianist, composer and arranger, founder of the Academy of Music and Arts > SMAC in Switzerland, who was in Europe for 20 years developing his career as a musician and teacher. Here in Bogotà, he meets with friends, all professional musicians, and so they begin to shape the sonority of this new musical proposal!

Andrés ‘O Positivo’ and his septet Super RAM has Latin and Colombian folklore influences mixed with electronic sounds with rapped voices, sometimes rock, that will make you get out of your chair and get you dancing no matter what!

Afrodream

21:30 - 22:30
Emmertsgrund, Vorplatz Bürgerhaus

Afrodream is an Afrobeat/pop band formed in Turin in 2018 when Abou Samb from Senegal (vocals, percussion), Eddy Gaulein Stef from Martinique (bass), Ariel Verosto from Argentina (piano, flute), Luca Vergano (guitar), Sam Baye (drums) and Simone Arlorio (saxophone) came together.

The sound atmosphere is a fusion of African rhythms and dreamy, enveloping melodies of a more “Western” nature, over which Samb’s lyrics float, full of hope and sometimes tinged with a subtle melancholy. The sound is the result of the meeting of musicians with cultural and musical backgrounds that are far apart, but have found a rhythmic and melodic balance between them. All of this results in energetic live performances that leave you almost in a state of cathartic ecstasy.

The band has released 2 EPs so far: “Afrodream” (2018), “Jam Sa Sounè” (2019) and the debut album “La Teranga” (2020).

After numerous performances in Italy, Switzerland and France, Afrodream embark on a tour in Senegal, where they will be guests at the Retba Festival, which takes place on the shores of Lake Rosa (Dakar). In December 2019, they launched a second crowdfunding campaign via Eppela with the help of Turin-based label Bunya Records to realize the 2020 summer tour.

In 2022, they released the single “Adouna” with the label Noox Recordigs, in which they experimented with Latin American rhythms for the first time, mixing them with Afrobeat and presenting them live at Cap10100 (sold-out event).

In 2023, the Afrodream are back on the road in France (Avignon and Marseille) during their summer tour, opening for the Chilean band Newen Afrobeat (who have collaborated with artists such as Seun Kuti).

The band is currently working on their next single, which will be released in the fall.
